Austria, Imperial. A War Cross for Civil Merit, III Class Cross, by Rozet and Fischmeister
(Kreigskreuz für Zivilverdienste). Instituted in 1915. In silver, a white enamelled cross with a wreath over the 12 and 6 o’clock arms, the obverse medallion features the initials FJI surrounded by the inscription MERITO CIVILI TEMPORE BELLI MCMXV, reverse with a single vertical pin assembly, marked on pin, and 12 o’clock arm with R&F makers mark denoting Rozet & Fischmeister manufacture, and a Diana’s Head 2 A mark denoting .900 silver fineness and Vienna from 1872-1922), measures 44.6mm (h) x 44.8mm (w), weighs 28.7 grams, light wear to enamels, marks to edges, dark patina, remains in very fine condition.
