Austria, Imperial. A Silver Military Merit Medal, in Solid Silver, With Wartime Ribbon and Swords
c. 1914. Silberne Militärverdienstmedaille. In solid silver, hallmarked on the ring; the obverse with a rightward facing bust of Kaiser Franz Joseph, circumscribed in Latin script; the reverse inscribed “Signum Laudis” (Latin - Sign for Praise) within a wreath consisting of oak and laurel leaves; on a swivel crown suspension, with a horizontally-pierced ball and loop, as well as a wartime ribbon, double clasps with swords; measuring 31.2 mm in diameter; in overall extremely fine condition.
