A 1797 Austrian Tyrolian Military Merit Medal
Silver, engraver marked "I.N. WIRT. T." on the obverse, 39.5 mm, replacement ribbon, dark patina, bruised, light contact, better than very fine.
Footnote: The medal was established by Emperor Francis in 1797 for those members of the Tyrolian volunteer contingent who served in the campaign in Tyrol against Napoleon's French army. It was awarded in three versions: large gold for high ranking officers, small gold for officers and silver for NCO's and men. (C:41)
