A First War Austrian Group of Five
Austria; As originally mounted and worn; Merit Cross "1849", 3rd Class, Third Period (1914-1918) (silver with red enamels, 37.5 mm); Bravery Medal, Silver Grade 1st Class, Franz Joseph, Type IV (1914-1916) (silver, engraver marked "LEISEK" on the obverse, 40 mm); Honour Decoration of the Red Cross, Bronze Grade Medal (two-piece construction, bronze with red and white enamels, 35.5 mm x 44 mm); Wound Medal for Four Wounds (silvered war materials, 38 mm, on a four wound ribbon); and Commemorative Medal 1898 "Signvm Memoriae" (bronze gilt, 34 mm). Each on a triangular original ribbon and mounted to a suspension with swing bar pinback, tiny chip evident in the red enamels on the Honour Decoration of the Red Cross, Bronze Grade Medal, enamels intact on the Merit Cross "1849", oxidation spotting on the Wound Medal, near extremely fine.
