Austria, Imperial. A 25-Year Long Service Medal for the Home Guard
(Ehrenzeichen für vieljährige verdienstliche Mitgliedschaft bei einer landsturmpflichtigen Körperschaft). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original tri-fold ribbon with hook and loop, the obverse with central monogram of Franz Joseph I, flanked by laurel leaf branches, circumscribed by inscription of “CONSTANTIAE ET PATRIAE AMORI” (“FOR CONSTANT LOVE OF COUNTRY”), the reverse with a Habsburg-style imperial eagle clutching an orb and sword, topped by inscription of “QUINQUE LUSTRA” (“TWENTY-FIVE YEARS”), above laurel leaf branches, unmarked, measuring 35.00 mm in diameter, weighing 21.4 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
