Austria, Imperial. A Military Order of Maria Theresa, Commander, by C.F. Rothe of Vienna, c.1925
(Militär-Maria-Theresien-Orden). Instituted 1757. In silver gilt, with red, white and green enamels, Gold centre, hallmarked with a hoopoe bird (from 1922), marked "925" (silver) and maker marked "CFR" (C.F. Rothe of Vienna) on the obverse integral loop, 44 mm, on an original full-length neck ribbon, of excellent quality manufacture, intact enamels, near mint condition and very rare. C.F. Rothe was an official maker of this insignia, and produced these type of the crosses for the recipients (like this example) during the 1920's and 1930's period.
