Austria, Imperial. An Order of the Golden Fleece, Collar (Collectors Copy)
(Ritterorden vom Goldenen Vlies). Instituted on 10 January 1429. Post-1945 Copy. The collar is constructed of a gilded bronze chain, composed of 23 stylized black enamelled representations of flints, decorated with irregular white flecks, the flints are flanked by stylized flames, joined by linked arms, with a central symbol of the order, a heraldic ram’s fleece facing right, measuring 41.68 mm (w) x 39.96 mm (h), attached to the chain with an eyelet and ring, attached to a slightly larger version of the flint, the collar measures approximately 96.5 cm in length, and in near very fine condition.
