(Orden der Eiseren Krone). Instituted in 1805, discontinued in 1814, restored in 1816. Multi-piece construction, in bronze gilt with red, white, green and blue enamels, measuring 29.5 mm (w) x 58.2 mm (h) inclusive of its crown suspension, maker marked "ROZET & FISCHMEISTER WIEN" and hallmarked with a six-sided star on the ring, original triangular ribbon with hook and eye, intact enamels, oxidation spot evident on the eagle's head on the left side, near mint.
Footnote: The Order of the Iron Crown was instituted on June 5, 1805 by Napoleon I as King of Italy. It was discontinued in 1814 and restored on February 12, 1816 by Emperor Franz Joseph. It was issued in three grades: I Class Grand Cross, II Class Commander and II Class Knight.
