Austria, Empire. An Order of the Iron Crown, III Class, c.1918
(Orden der Eisernen Krone III. Klasse). Instituted on 1 January 1816. In bronze gilt, a two headed eagle with enameled blue shield on its chest, depicting the letter “F”, the eagle clutching a globus cruciger and sword in its talons, reverse of the eagle with a second shield, dated “1815” within a bed of blue enamel, suspended by an Austrian crown partially enameled in red, on the base an Iron Crown with multi colors enamels, measuring 28.18 mm (w) x 58.10 mm (h), suspended by a loop suspension on a yellow and blue striped triangular ribbon, with enamel loss and old repair to elongated ring, very fine.
