(Österreichisch-kaiserlicher Leopold-Orden). Instituted on 8 January 1808 by Franz I of Austria. A late manufacture of an Order of Leopold Grand Cross Set, comprising of the badge, featuring a red and white enamelled cross pattee with a green enamelled wreath between each arm, the obverse medallion features the inscription FIA on a red enamelled field, surrounded by a white ring inscribed INTEGRITATI ET MERITO, the reverse medallion features the inscription OPES REGUM CORDA SUBDITO RUM surrounded by a gilt wreath, the cross is surmounted by a large crown with red enamel cap, 48.2mm (w) x 87.3mm (h), weighs 55.1 grams, obverse medallion loose, enamel worn however remains in very fine condition.
Accompanied by the star of the order, a silver eight armed star with clusters of five faceted double rays, the obverse medallion featuring a red and white enamelled cross pattee with a green enamelled wreath between each arm, the obverse medallion features the inscription FIA on a red enamelled field, surrounded by a white ring inscribed INTEGRITATI ET MERITO, reverse features a vertical pin assembly, measures 95.8mm (w) x 94.9mm (h), weighs 86.8 grams, wear to enamel on medallion, lovely patina to silver arms, in very fine condition.
