Tyrol, Province. A Matricular Eagle Order, Neck Badge by Rothe, c. 1960
(Abzeichen der Tiroler Adelsmatrikel). Issued 1805-1918. Unmarked but of Rothe manufactured design, this post war silver gilt decoration presents a large red enamelled eagle with a green enamelled wreath around its head, the obverse features a white enamelled shield inscribed F.I, the reverse shield inscribed M.T, suspended from black enamelled knight on a suspension loop, the reverse of the suspension is plain, measures 35.3mm (w) x 76.5mm (h – inclusive of knight suspension and integral ring), weighs 37.4 grams, worn on a modern replacement ribbon, enamels intact, light wear, in extremely fine condition.
