Insignia in silver gilt with red and white enamels, mounted to an eight-pointed silver gilt star base, each star point with five emanating rays, with a single emanating ray between each star point, maker hallmarked "MN", marked "925" (silver) and Austrian hoopoe bird hallmarked on the pin, measuring 86.8 mm (w) x 87.3 mm (h), vertical pinback, intact enamels, extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, dark red leather-look papered exterior, marked with the Vienna coat-of-arms that is surrounded by the inscription "BVNDESNAVPTSTADT WIEN" (Federal Capital Vienna) in gold-coloured ink on the lid, white satin lined inside lid, maroon felt recessed and slotted medal bed, single clasp closure, dual-hinged, measuring 137.5 mm (w) x 137.5 mm (h) x 34 mm (h), case also extremely fine.
