In silver (hollow) with black enamelled arms with ball finals, the obverse with a white enamelled central medallion with a red enamelled cross, surrounded by a silver ring inscribed Volontaires Internationaux de la Croix Rouge (French - International Volunteers of the Red Cross) on the obverse, the reverse with equally black enamelled arms and a silver central medallion, inscribed Ambulance Dévouement (French - Ambulance Service), on a swivel crown and loop for suspension (marked but illegible) from its period original ribbon, measuring 36.75 (w) x 36.28 mm (h), weighing 17.2 grams, with light contact marks on the cross and a chip in the white enamels on the obverse, and in overall near very fine condition.

This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
