A Belgian National Exhibition of Work Dean's Honourary Labour Neck Chain - Bronze gilt and enamelled insignia, the crown above in bronze gilt and red enamels with six coloured stones in its base, unmarked, 51 mm x 77.3 mm inclusive of its crown suspension, connected to the strap via a commander's loop, the embroidered strap fashioned in a braided pattern, eight 24 mm wide octagonal lion's heads affixed to the strap, supported on their reverses via circular disks which are sewn in place, bronze gilt buckle closure at the back of the neck has a two-piece construction, the left side with an octagonal ring, while the right side has a central interlocking tab illustrating a lion's head, the strap measuring 33 mm x 835 mm, light gilt wear on some of the lion's heads, extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, inscribed in French "ROYAUME DE BELGIQUE EXPOSITIONS NATIONALES DU TRAVAIL" and Dutch "KONINKRIJK BELGIE NATIONALE ARBEIDSTENTOONSTELLINGEN" flanking the National Exhibition of Work insignia on the lid, marked "Necklace of Honour remains the Property of the National Exhibition of Work" in French and Dutch on the inside lid, green velvet medal bed, case also extremely fine. Footnote: This award is appointed by Royal Decree on the proposal of the National Commission, who are subject to applications from employers' associations and workers unions.
