What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

A pair of decorations, including an Order of People’s Freedom, I Class, constructed of gilded bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon on a pentagonal backplate with horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 52 mm (w) x 55 mm (h), accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of two pieces of card stock with a red canvas exterior liner, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and padded rayon medal bed, closing with a functional bronze snap button, unmarked, 84 mm (w) x 132 mm (l) x 26 mm (h), with minor material fatigue evident to the case, in extremely fine condition, and; an Order of 9 September 1944, II Class, constructed of gilded bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension from a period incorrect replacement ribbon on a pentagonal backplate with a horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 55 mm (w) x 58 mm (h), accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a heavy card stock frame with a red canvas exterior liner, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and padded white rayon medal bed, unmarked, measuring 82 mm (w) x 132 mm (l) x 26 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
