A pair of military academy graduation badges, including a Georgi Rakovski Military Academy badge, constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a white enameled diamond within a gilt border, overlaid by a red enameled five-pointed star bearing a gilt coat of arms of the People’s Republic of Bulgaria, above a gilt banner bearing a black Cyrillic inscription of “ВА Г.С. РАКОВСКИ”, the reverse with a screw, unmarked, measuring 28.56 mm (w) x 48.62 mm (h), minor loss of finish and flecking of enamels evident, in overall better than very fine condition, and; a Georgi Benkovski Air Force Academy badge, constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a white enameled diamond within a gilt border, overlaid by a red enameled five-pointed star bearing a gilt coat of arms of the People’s Republic of Bulgaria, above a gilt banner bearing a black Cyrillic inscription of “ВВУЗ Г. БЕНКОВСКИ”, the reverse with a screw and backplate, maker marked “БМД” for the Bulgarian Mint, measuring 28.13 mm (w) x 48.25 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
