Hard covers booklet belonging to an Officer of the “Croatian Armed Forces”, with uniform photo of Infantry Lieutenant Davor Smokvina, who was born in Rijeka, who was a volunteer since 29. April 1941; with few stamps of Zagreb military headquarter, several entries, all pages present, in very fine condition; also included is a letter ordering him to attend “a special Domobran’s (Home guard) course in Varazdin”, dated 1943.
Footnote: WW2 Croatian Army “Osobna Knizica” – “Soldier’s Book” is modeled on Wehrmach “Soldbuch”; they are very difficult to find, as a vast majority were destroyed by the holders, or subsequently confiscated by the Partisans. Those issued to Officer’s like in this case are rare.
