Croatia, Independent State. An Ante Pavelić Silver Bravery Medal, by Teodor Krivak
Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension with its period original tri-fold ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised and leftward-facing profile of Poglavnik Ante Pavelić, cirscumribed by name and title, the reverse bearing a central raised Ustaša emblem, flanked by a date of “1914”, topped by an inscription of “ZA DOM SPREMNI” (“FOR THE HOMELAND, READY”), above an inscription of “ZA HRABOST” (“FOR BRAVERY”), within a stylized floral wreath, the edge marked near the one o’clock position with a silver hallmark and maker’s mark of “TK” for Teodor Krivak, Varaždin, measuring 35.14 mm in diameter, weighing 17.9 grams, the ribbon has lost its grommet but the medal continues to sit unsecured within the ribbon, in near extremely fine condition.
