A Complete Grand Cross Award consisting of a Grand Cross Badge in bronze gilt with white, red and blue and enamels, unmarked but of typical Braca Knaus of Zagreb manufacture, 60 mm x 60.5 mm, on a full-length sash and finished in a bow; and Breast Star: three-piece construction, bronze gilt with white, red and blue and enamelled cross, mounted to a silver eight-pointed star base, maker marked "BK" (Braca Knaus, Zagreb), marked "NDH" (Nezavisna Država Hrvatska = Independent State of Croatia) and silver hallmarked (Roster) on both the pin and the reverse of the star, 94 mm x 96.3 mm, horizontal pinback. Of fine quality manufacture, scratches evident in the white enamels on the reverse of the Grand Cross, loss of some tiny red and blue enamels on the crown on the Breast Star, otherwise the enamels are intact, better than extremely fine. Seldom awarded in this grade and rare.
