What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Twenty-Two Percent (22%) of the Hammer Price

Czechoslovakia, Republic. An Army Officer's Summer Jacket, c. 1945

The jacket is fabricated from a thick khaki cotton, with a button down shoulder strap on both shoulders, the upper on each strap in khaki cotton and housing two gilt stars secured in place by dual prongs, the three edges of each strap trimmed in two rows of fine gold-coloured copper bullion wire and outlined in a row of red wool, the underside in gray wool, each of the brass buttons at the neck end bearing crossed swords, the straps representing the rank of Major. The front has four pockets, one on each breast, with two larger ones on either side at the waist, all with button down flaps with reinforced button holes and small brass buttons bearing crossed swords. The front is completed by four large brass buttons on the right side, each bearing crossed swords, facing four reinforced button holes on the left side. Both armpits have three reinforced holes in green threading for ventilation, while each of the sleeve cuffs incorporate a small brass button bearing crossed swords. Inside, the jacket armpits are lined in a ring of dark brown padding at the opening, along with a thin strap sewn in place in the collar to allow for hanging upon a hook. It is stamped in black ink "41" on the body of the jacket underneath each of the large pockets, in addition to being stamped with a series of numeric codes in black ink, along with the Czech lion and a column of icons in blue ink on the large pocket on the left side. The jacket measures 460 mm across the shoulders x 740 mm in length, exhibiting light soiling overall, the stitching intact throughout. Better than very fine.
