An 1938 Czech Loyal Service Cross of the National Armed Guard; Silver Version
In silver, hallmarked and maker marked "MO" on upper arm on the reverse, very crisp detail, 35.2 mm, bronze linden leaf clasp on original ribbon, better than extremely fine. Footnote: NSG (Narodní Streleckych Gard = National Armed Guard). The Czech National Guard can trace its antecedents back to the Middle Ages; this cross was awarded for service during the Sudetenland crisis of 1938which culminated in the ignominious appeasement of Germany at Munich.
