What's a max bid?

Denmark, Kingdom. A Red Cross Honour Decoration, Cased

(Dansk Røde Kors Hæderstegn). Instituted in 1916. Two-piece construction, red cross insignia in silver with red and white enamels, mounted to a silver cross base, obverse bearing the initials "DDRK" on the four arms, the reverse inscribed in Latin "INTER ARMA CARITAS" (Between the Arms of Charity) in the centre, flanked by floral rosettes on the arms at 6 and 12 o'clock, unmarked, measuring 38.2 mm (w) x 43.2 mm (h) inclusive of its laterally-pierced flattened ball suspension, intact enamels, very light contact, original folded ribbon with pinback, near extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, red wavy textured design on all sides, inside lid lined in white rayon, padded and maker marked with the Royal crown over "HOF. OG ORDENS JUVELEER A. MICHELSEN KJØBENHAVN", a white cardboard insert placed within the base and housing a recessed medal bed in deep red rayon, measuring 65 mm (w) x 77.8 mm (h) x 26.5 mm (h), light wear evident on the corners on both the lid and the bottom, case also near extremely fine.

 

Footnote: The Red Cross Honour Decoration was instituted on February 19, 1916 and was awarded to recognize individuals who have rendered outstanding and exceptionally long services to the Red Cross, commonly after being previously rewarded the I Class Danish Red Cross Decoration of Merit Medal. This medal was revised in 1963.
