A beaded multiple-rayed eight-pointed star in polished silver, the obverse centre presents an enameled black Maltese cross in silver gilt, displaying a highly detailed silver Estonian eagle holding a sword and the Estonian coat of arms, with three blue lions on a silver shield, the reverse presents a principle pin assembly dual stays, measuring 86.17 mm (w) x 85.76 mm (h), presenting damage on the tip of the seven o’clock arm, minot tarnished silver, otherwise extremely fine condition.
Footnote: The Order of the Eagle Cross was established by the Estonian Defence League in 1928 in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of Estonian independence. In 1936, it was adopted by the Estonian Parliament in the Decoration Act, which recognised it as a national award. It was later suppressed during the Soviet occupation, but it was renewed in 1995 following the restoration of Estonian independence.
