In silver gilt, a shield shaped badge with the state coat of arms depicting a diagonal line with three stylized lilies on each side, a banner above features the letters PL. BIH., the reverse features a horizontal pin with a pinch clasp and one small pin to stop rotation, reverse is marked S 950 and SF, measures 20.2mm (w) 19.8mm (h), weighs 3.4 grams (including pinch clasp), in extremely fine condition.
Contained in its case of issue, a blue plastic case with the emblem of the league on the lid, the interior features a white silk lid and soft removable velvet medalbed, a plaque sits at the base with the inscription 91-97, measures 60mm (w) x 90.5mm (l) x 24mm (d), scuffs to exterior otherwise in very fine condition.
Footnote: The Patriotic League was founded by Sefer Halilovic and his associates on June 10, 1991, with the aim of enrolling all persons loyal to the idea of an independent Bosnia and Herzegovina. The League participated in preparing and resisting the Serbian paramilitary units as well as the JNA. The contribution made by this formation to the defense of the city of Sarajevo and the prevention of crimes against the citizens of Sarajevo are very significant. The Patriotic League legally ceased to exist in 1992 with the establishment of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
