What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

1. France, Fifth Republic: National Defence Medal with Air Force Clasp, Gold Grade for 10 Years' Service (Médaille de la la Défense Nationale). Instituted in 1982. 1 Clasp - ARMÉE DE L'AIR, in bronze gilt, cornucopia hallmarked and marked "BR" (bronze) on the obverse, measuring 36 mm (w) x 40.8 mm (h) inclusive of its laterally-pierced ball suspension, original ribbon with dual prong pinback, in its cardboard box of issue.

2. Germany, Federal Republic (West Germany): Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, Commander's Cross (Verdienstorden der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, Großes Verdienstkreuz). Instituted in 1951. Three-piece construction, in bronze gilt with red and black enamels, measuring 60.5 mm (w) x 71 mm (h) inclusive of its integral ring, on its full-length original neck ribbon with bronze gilt clasp, intact enamels.

3. Mexico, United Mexican States: Medal of Military Merit, II Class (Condecoración al Mérito Militar). Instituted in 1902, Updated in 1929. Fullsize: three-piece construction, in bronze gilt with red and blue enamels, measuring 45.5 mm (w) x 45.5 mm (h), single prong on the reverse, the ribbon separate from the medal and suspended from a hanger with dual prongs that is inscribed "MEXICO"; along with its Ribbon Bar, in bronze gilt red, white, green and yellow enamels, measuring 37 mm (w) x 10.2 mm (h), dual push pins; and Miniature: three-piece construction, in bronze gilt with red and blue enamels, measuring 21 mm (w) x 23.8 mm (h) inclusive of its integral ring, the ribbon separate from the medal and suspended from a hanger with push pin; along with its Ribbon Bar, in bronze gilt red, white, green and yellow enamels, measuring 19 mm (w) x 6.5 mm (h), dual push pins.

4. Mexico, United Mexican States: Medal of Naval Distinction, II Class (Medalla de Distinción Naval). Institution date undetermined. Three-piece construction in silvered and gilt bronze with green and white enamels, measuring 50.5 mm (w) x 50.5 mm (h), original ribbon suspended from a hanger with pinback, along with its Ribbon Bar in bronze gilt with clasp in bronze gilt and green enamels, measuring 36.7 mm (w) x 16.7 mm (h), dual push pins; and Miniature: two-piece construction, in silvered and gilt bronze with green and white enamels, measuring 24.3 mm (w) x 23.5 mm (h), original soiled ribbon suspended from a hanger with push pin.

France, Fifth Republic: National Defence Medal was instituted on April 21, 1982 and awarded for particularly honourable service rendered by military personnel for their participation in operational activities, in three grades: Gold Medal for 10 Years' Service, Silver Medal for 5 Years' Service and Bronze Medal for 1 Years' Service.

2. Germany, Federal Republic (West Germany): The Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany was instituted on September 7, 1951 and was awarded for achievements contributing to the peaceful rise of the Federal Republic of Germany, in nine grades.

3. Mexico, United Mexican States: The Medal of Military Merit is awarded to members of the Army and Air Force for acts of exceptional merit that greatly benefit the Mexican Armed Forces, in three grades: I Class, II Class and III Class.
