A Grand Cross Set, comprising the badge, in silver, a white enamelled cross pattee, the obverse medallion with a rampant lion on a red enamelled field, the reverse is plain, marked on a ring with makers mark for A. Tillander, 813H silver fineness and crown import mark, measures 54.1mm (w) x 59.5mm (h – inclusive of integral ring), worn on a full length red silk sash, in very fine condition. The star of the order, in silver, featuring a five point star with clusters of seven smooth rays, with three gilt scaled rays in each quadrant, the center features a rampant lion on a red enamelled field, the reverse features a single vertical pin, marked on base with maker mark for A. Tillander, 1965 date mark, 813H silver mark, Helsinki town mark, and crown import mark, measures 82.6mm (w) x 82.5mm (h), weighs 72.1 grams, enamels intact, lovely patina, remains in very fine condition.
Contained in its original case of issue, a brown-green leatherette exterior with Finnish lion on the lid, the interior features a white silk lid marked A. TILLANDER, with a partial black velvet recessed medal bed with storage compartment for sash below, measures 150mm (w) x 165mm (h) x 50mm (d), discolouration to exterior, hinge and clasp functional, remains in very fine condition.
