A Foreign Legion Commandant’s Kepi
A traditional (1940’s-1980’s) French Foreign Legion Kepi; band constructed of black wool with gold bullion wire seven-flame grenade and gold bullion chin strap on front half attached on sides by golden buttons; four gold bullion loops on top section of band; crown crafted out of red wool with triple gold bullion austrian knot braid in the centre; visor made out of black Vulcanfibre with black leather sweatband and black velvet lining on the inside; maker markings “P. Pomeret, Artilces Militaires, 37 Av. de la Molte - Picquer, Metro: Ecole Militaire, Paris”; 19 cm inside diameter, 11 cm tall; Leather sweatband slightly soiled but otherwise near very fine condition.
