France, I Empire. A Napoleon Bonaparte Pedestal Statuette
In patinated cast iron, magnetic, three-piece construction, illustrating Napoleon Bonaparte in a standing position, his right leg slightly forward, his arms crossed, the Order of the Legion of Honour on his left breast, his hat worn in the traditional "en bataille" style (that is, with the corns parallel to the shoulders, while most of his officers wore their hats "en colonne", that is, perpendicular to the shoulders), with a sword at his left hip and a walking stick in his right hand, the pedestal raised upon a stepped base, the pedestal itself hollow, measuring 48 mm in width x 49 mm in depth x 135 mm in height, the bottom slightly undulated and not allowing the statuette to sit flat, near extremely fine.
