France, I Empire. A Napoleon Bonaparte Sitting Upon a Horse Statuette
In patinated pewter, with gold-coloured highlights on the saddle and harness on the horse, multi-piece construction, twentieth century manufactured, illustrating Napoleon Bonaparte sitting upon a horse, his hat worn in the traditional "en bataille" style (that is, with the corns parallel to the shoulders, while most of his officers wore their hats "en colonne", that is, perpendicular to the shoulders), with a sword at his left hip, the horse in a stationary standing position, its tail tucked in, on a rectangular base with a dimpled surface, mounted a stepped wooden base with a dark brown finish, measuring 114 mm in width x 67.3 mm in depth x 104 mm in height, exhibiting scattered wear in the patination on the rectangular base along with scuff marks on the wooden base, better than very fine.
