France, I Empire. A Napoleon Bonaparte Statuette with Marble Base
In patinated bronze, the statuette with a two-piece construction, illustrating Napoleon Bonaparte in a standing position, his right leg slightly forward, his arms crossed, the Order of the Legion of Honour on his left breast, his hat worn in the traditional "en bataille" style (that is, with the corns parallel to the shoulders, while most of his officers wore their hats "en colonne", that is, perpendicular to the shoulders), with a sword at his left hip, the statuette mounted to a black marble base with veins of white and green, the bottom with a piece of hunter green felt affixed, measuring 64 mm in width x 64.2 mm in depth x 167 mm in height, near extremely fine.
