What's a max bid?

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

France, IV Republic. An Order of Merit for Commerce and Industry, III Class Knight, c.1960

(Ordre du Mérite du Travail, Chevalier). Instituted in 1957. Three-piece construction, in bronze gilt with red enamels, a forest green enamelled disk placed between the two bronze gilt plates, maker marked "A.B." (Arthus Bertrand) on the obverse, measuring 40 mm (w) x 46.5 mm (h), the red enamelled text "MERITE DU TRAVAIL" on the obverse exhibiting slight discolouration, on its original shortened neck ribbon, extremely fine.

 

Footnote: The Order of Merit for Commerce and Industry was instituted on January 21, 1957 and discontinued on January 1, 1964, replaced by the National Order of Merit. It was awarded for meritorious services to commerce and industry, in three grades: Commander, Officer and Knight.
