Three-piece construction, in bronze gilt with green enamels, engraver marked just below the bust on the obverse, measuring 40 mm (w) x 40.5 mm (h) inclusive of its integral suspension, intact enamels, very light contact, large rosette on its original ribbon, near extremely fine.
Footnote: The Order of Merit for Service to Veterans was instituted on September 14, 1953 and discontinued on January 1, 1964, replaced by the National Order of Merit. It was awarded for meritorious services to ex-servicemen and war victims of the two world wars, in three grades: Commander, Officer and Knight.
