Instituted April 26, 1814. In Silver, a delicate, hollow decoration of the Lily, the obverse presenting a Fleur-de-Lys stamped with pearls and florets around the edges, the center medallion presents a small right facing bust of King Louis, with the inscription LOUIS XVIII. 1814 in silver around the exterior, the reverse mirrors the obverse, the badge is surmounted by a large silver crown with delicate details, measures 14.5mm (w) x 38.10mm (h – inclusive of integral ring), weighs 1.8 grams, worn on original fragile ribbon with bow which has been adhered to the base of the frame, dark patina, a truly lovely decoration in extremely fine condition.
Contained in a unique frame featuring a red velvet exterior, measures 118.70mm (w) x 152.25mm (w), a central glass panel presents the decoration, while the reverse features an angled stand, and two clasps to open the back panel, with a small ring at 12 o’clock, exterior presenting heavy wear and loss of velvet, hinge and clasps functional, frame in fine condition.
