(Médaille des Déportés et Internés Résistants). Instituted in 1948. In bronze, cornucopia hallmarked and marked "BR" (bronze) on the reverse, measuring 35.8 mm (w) x 39.7 mm (h) inclusive of its integral suspension, very light contact, original ribbon, near extremely fine.
Footnote: The Medal for Deportees and Interned Resisters was instituted on August 6, 1948, to be awarded to those who qualified as deportees or internees for acts of resistance. On January 6, 1955, an amendment allowed its award for similar acts during the First World War.
