(Médaille Militaire). Instituted in 1852. An excellent example of this eariler type, in silver gilt with blue enamels, measuring 26 mm (w) x 46 mm (h) inclusive of its eagle and integral ring, intact enamels, very light contact, original ribbon, near extremely fine.
