A French Legion D'Honneur; Knight, Second Republic 1852-1870 with Case
France; Silver with green, white and blue enamels, Gold centrepieces, cornucopia hallmarked on the reverse, 41.2 mm x 62.5 mm inclusive of its crown suspension, original ribbon, chipping evident in the white enamelled arms on both sides, in the blue and green enamelled jewels at the base of the crown, and in the blue enamels on the centrepiece ring on the reverse, very fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, image of the Legion of Honour on the lid, maker marked "LEMOINE FILS, SUCCr. Rue Duphot No. 7 PARIS" on the inside lid, lightly soiled recessed medal bed, wear evident in the fabric overlying the hinged area, light wear on the exterior, case also very fine.
