What's a max bid?

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Gold with green, white, red and blue enamels, hallmarked on the tip of the ribbon, 40.3 mm x 61.7 mm inclusive of its crown suspension, large rosette on a five-sided Danish-style ribbon, chipping and crazing in the white enamels on the arms, scattered chipping in the green and red enamels at the base of the crown, near extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, marked "LÉGION D'HONNEUR OFFICIER" on the lid, angled platform medal bed, light wear on the corners on the exterior, case also near extremely fine.
