(Ordre National de la Légion d'Honneur). A Fifth Republic Knight (1962-), in silver and enamels, presenting a white Maltese cross with ball finials, green enamelled wreath segments in each quadrant, the obverse medallion in gilt featuring the right facing portrait of Marianne, surrounded by a blue enamel ring inscribed REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE, the reverse with two crossed French flags, with the blue inscription HONNEUR ET PATRIE 29 FLOREAL AN X, the cross is surmounted by a green enamelled wreath, measures 42.8mm (w) x 63.2mm (h – inclusive of surmounting wreath), weighs 25.1 grams, worn on a section of red ribbon, enamels intact, in very fine condition.

(Ordre National de la Légion d'Honneur). A Fourth Republic Knight (1951-1962), in silver and enamels, a white Maltese Cross with ball finials, the obverse medallion in gilt, presenting the right facing profile of Marianne surrounded by a blue ring inscribed REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE, the reverse with crossed French flags surrounded by a blue enamel ring inscribed HONNEUR ET PATRIE, the cross is surmounted by a green enamelled wreath, measures 40.4mm (w) x 58.7mm (h), weighs 25.5 grams, worn on a red ribbon, small enamel chips near tips of three o’clock ray on obverse and 9 o’clock reverse, chips in reverse blue enamel ring, remains in very fine condition.
