Constructed of grey threads wound repeatedly around a white fabric core to form a grey string that is wrapped four times into a U-shape, with red Waffenfarbe piping and a black wool underside; the obverse of the tabs each with two silvered rank pips and a battalion cipher to denote “Artillery Observer Bataillon Hauptsturmführer”; with a button-hole on each board; measuring 31 mm (w) x 111 mm (h); uniform removed; in overall better than very fine condition.
