A rare and matching set of Waffen-SS Smoke/Chemical Troops Enlisted personnel shoulder straps, each constructed of black wool with field-grey wool underlays, trimmed with Bordeaux red piping, and bearing reverse straps perforated with reinforced buttonholes, both unmarked and measuring 45 mm (w) x 120 mm (l), a scarce pair in near mint condition.
Footnote: While historical evidence demonstrates that Waffen-SS Smoke/Chemical Troops used Bordeaux red Waffenfarbe, other sources indicate that judicial personnel (SS-Gerichtsbarkeit/Staatsanwaltschaft) similarly employed this colour on uniform insignia.
