A HJ member’s armband, constructed of a red cotton twill base, the exterior bisected by a central machine-embroidered white cotton twill band, in turn overlaid by a white cotton twill diamond bearing a black machine-embroidered mobile swastika, the interior plain, unmarked, measuring 190 mm (w) x 108 mm (h), accompanied by a United States Air Mail envelope, addressed to “MISS KATHRYN SCHMIDT, 2123 SO. 60 ST., OMAHA-7, NEBR.”, with a return address of “S/SGT. R.E. ACHATZ 37073398, BTRY. A. 253A.F.A.BN., AP040390 P.M., NY, NY”, with a stamped date of “JUN. 18 1945”, measuring 132 mm (w) x 115 mm (h), minor soiling evident to the armband and age-appropriate material fatigue apparent to the envelope, in overall near extremely fine condition.
