A rare example of a fine quality Führer Headquarter “Führerhauptquartier” personnel’s cufftitle; second pattern; constructed of fine black doeskin wool with silver aluminum bullion wire hand embroidery on the obverse, spelling out “Führerhauptquartier” in Sütterlin style script; the top and bottom edges of the cuff title a with horizontally running strip of silver aluminum bullion embroidery; the reverse with folded-over trim, sewn into place; measuring 411 mm x 30 mm; a worn uniform removed example; in overall near extremely fine condition. Rare.
Footnote: The Führerhauptquartier, (Führer Headquarters), cufftitle was introduced shortly before the start of hostilities in 1939 and was intended for those personnel who served in the Führerbegleitbataillon, (Führer Escort Battalion), in a security capacity at Hitler’s assorted headquarters.
