Germany, Wehrmacht. A Kurland Cuff Title
(Ärmelband “Kurland”). Instituted 12 March 1945. (1945 issue). Constructed of machine-woven silver-grey cotton threading, the exterior bearing a machine-embroidered black inscription of “KURLAND”, flanked on the left by a machine-embroidered black shield bearing a Teutonic Order-style cross with each arm completing in a fleur de lys, flanked on the right by a shield bearing a coat of arms of the former Courland capital city of Mitau (now Jelgava), unmarked, measuring 36 mm (w) x 236 mm (l), a small spot of soiling is evident above the Teutonic shield, a desirable and rare example in extremely fine condition.
