Germany, Heer. A 1941 Army Officer's Tropical Belt with Buckle, by G. REINHARDT, Berlin
Germany (Third Reich); Buckle in die-stamped feinzink on the right end, non-magnetic, finished in olive green paint, unmarked, the buckle measuring 50 mm. Belt is fabricated from a very thick webbed olive green cotton, the buckle secured in place on the right end where the belt wraps around to the reverse of the belt and is stitched in place, leather tab stitched in place on the underside on the left end with seven rows of two holes each for length adjustment, the tab emboss stamped with the "G. REINHARDT BERLIN" maker mark and emboss stamped with the date "1941", the rounded left end of the belt with a dark brown protective leather strip stitched in place, the belt measuring 45 mm x 1,050 mm. The buckle exhibits scattered chipping in the olive green paint finish, the leather on the tab having hardened with some crazing apparent with age, the webbed belt with light soiling overall. Worn, yet very fine.
