A 1941 Wehrmacht Heer Officer’s Tropical Belt & Buckle by G. Reinhart of Berlin
This is a very lightly worn 1941 Wehrmacht Heer (Army) Officer’s tropical belt and buckle; the buckle is consists of a two piece construction; the obverse with a raised and lightly pebbled dome in the middle with a national eagle depicting down-swept wings in the centre clutching a mobile swastika (Hakenkreuz), with a round oak wreath border. The reverse of the buckle features a mirrored image of the obverse but is otherwise plain with a clasp and a folded clip for the attachment of squared belt clip. The belt is constructed of a very well preserved woven olive-drab canvas belt with an attractive naturally tanned leather tongue with seven vertically oriented dual adjustment holes. It is very clearly marked “G. Reinhart, Berlin, 1941” as well as “120” on the reverse, with two sliding belt keepers on the belt and a leather reinforcement rim on the receiver-side of the belt.. The buckle measures 49 mm in diameter, and the canvas belt measures 114 cm x 4.5 cm. It depicts light wear, but is in overall near extremely fine condition.
