Germany. A Pair of Belt Buckles
(Gürtelschnallen). A pair of belt buckles, including an Imperial Heer Enlisted buckle, constructed of bronze, the obverse bearing a central raised crown, within a ribbed ring bearing an inscription of “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD IS WITH US”), the reverse with a loop and swivel attachment claws, unmarked, measuring 60 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), with significant denting evident, in poor condition, and; a HJ Enlisted buckle, constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse bearing a central raised German national eagle clutching a HJ insignia, within a ribbed ring bearing an inscription of “BLUT UND EHRE” (“BLOOD AND HONOUR”), the reverse with a loop and dual attachment prongs, maker marked with “A.S.” and the logo of F.W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid, alongside a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and code “17” for the same maker, measuring 62 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
