Germany, Heer. A Rare EM/NCO’s Belt Buckle, by Kollmar & Jourdan
(Heer Gürtelschnalle). Constructed of aluminum, the obverse bearing a raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, within a ribbed ring bearing an inscription of “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD WITH US”) and oak leaf branches, the reverse with a loop and swivel attachment prongs, the latter retaining a brown leather strap bearing a maker’s mark of “KOLLMAR & JOURDAN, PFORZHEIM”, the buckle similarly marked with the firm’s logo and a manufacture date of “1937”, measuring 64 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), with some loss of finish evident, an example by an uncommon maker in near extremely fine condition.
