Germany, Heer. A Tropical EM/NCO’s Belt and Buckle, by Josef Feix & Söhne
(Heer Tropen Gürtel mit Schnalle). A Heer tropical EM/NCO’s belt and buckle, the former constructed of olive-drab canvas web material, one end stitched into a loop and retaining an olive-drab painted magnetic metal clip, the opposite end bearing a reverse tongue with seven sets of dual reinforced eyelets for an adjustable fit, the reverse of the clip end bearing an illegible stamped maker’s mark, measuring 48 mm (w) x 880 mm (l), in near mint condition; the latter constructed of light olive-coloured magnetic metal, the obverse bearing a central raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, set within a ribbed rin bearing a raised inscription of “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD WITH US”) with oak leaf branches, the reverse with a loop and swivel attachment prongs securing the buckle to the accompanying belt, maker marked “J.F.S.” for Josef Feix & Söhne, Gablonz, with no evident damage or loss of paint, in near mint condition.
