Germany, Heer. An EM/NCO’s Tropical Belt and Buckle
(Heer Tropen Gürtel mit Schnalle für Mannschaften). A Heer EM/NCO’s tropical belt and buckle, the former constructed of khaki-tan canvas, with one end retaining a magnetic metal clip, the opposite end bearing a reverse brown leather tongue perforated with seven sets of dual eyelets for an adjustable fit, stamped on the reverse with an illegible maker’s mark circumscribing a date of “1941”, unmarked, measuring 4.5 cm (w) x 98 cm (l), demonstrating moderate material fatigue to the leather tongue, in near extremely fine condition; the latter constructed of patinated magnetic steel, the obverse bearing a central raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, set within a ribbed ring bearing an inscription of “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD WITH US”), the reverse with a loop and swivel attachment claws, bearing an illegible maker’s mark, measuring 64 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), demonstrating loss of finish throughout, in very fine condition.
