Germany, Third Reich. A Pair of Belt Buckles
(Gürtelschnallen). A pair of belt buckles, including a Heer EM/NCO’s buckle, constructed of magnetic metal, the obverse bearing a central raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, within a ribbed ring bearing a raised inscription of “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD WITH US”) with oak leaf branches, the reverse with a loop and swivel attachment claws, maker marked with the logo of Richard Sieper & Söhne, Lüdenscheid, measuring 64 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), in very fine condition, and; a HJ Enlisted buckle, constructed of nickel-plated magnetic metal, the obverse bearing a raised German national eagle clutching a HJ insignia, set within a ribbed ring bearing an inscription of “BLUT UND EHRE” (“BLOOD AND HONOUR”), the reverse with a loop and swivel attachment claws, marked with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and maker code “M4/30” for Berg & Nolte, Lüdenscheid, measuring 62 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), with some scratching and oxidation evident, in very fine condition.
